Built Inside Orthopedics Designed for Modern MSK Access

HURT! was created by orthopedic clinicians who saw first hand how fragmented access was failing the people who needed care most — patients, practices, and the employers who support them.

Built From Necessity

In 2020, orthopedic access broke.

Elective surgeries paused.

Emergency rooms became overloaded.

Athletes were sidelined without direction.

Employers had no structured pathway for workplace MSK injuries.

HURT! began as a simple idea: create a structured digital front door for musculoskeletal care — and make it available to every employer, practice, and patient who needed it.

That idea was first sketched by hand:

Handwritten notes outlining questions and scheduling options for an appointment following a slight injury, including questions on who is hurt, when it started, and hurt location, with future appointment times listed.
Handwritten flowchart on ruled spiral notebook titled 'HURT! STORY' illustrating injury progression, treatment with Hurt! PT2x and telemed results, resolved and two patient workflows leading to coach and follow-up, ending with collected outcomes data.
Handwritten notes on injury submission and preferences, including items about deleting upload pictures and adding claim number, keeping urgency button, and assigning preferences for practice and provider.
Handwritten flowchart outlining injury processing paths through Urgent Care, ER, and Orthopedic Office, detailing steps including check-in, triage, x-rays, doctor consultation, billing, and insurance invoicing.
Handwritten notes on login and reporting a problem procedures, including email, account holder info, company code, privacy terms, verifying mobile, insurance details, and conditions for reporting worker injuries.
Hand-drawn sketch of a medical app interface showing a circular button with a white cross labeled 'after hitting hurt button' and a rectangular panel below with two round icons: one with a person with an arm sling labeled 'I'm injured' and one with a calendar and clock labeled 'No injury, find me appointment.'
Hand-drawn sketch of app icons labeled Hurt?, Need Therapy?, Messages, and Profile under the title Hurt, Help, Heal.
Hand-drawn sketch of a progress tracking system with a compliance bar, numbered pain scale labeled 'my pain today', and notes on video progressions and program alerts.

Early workflow concepts that became the foundation of HURT!.

Built by Operators. Trusted by Operators.

HURT! was developed inside real orthopedic practices by people
who have sat across from patients in pain and knew there had to
be a better, faster path to the right care.

From Sketch to Scalable Platform

What began as mobile triage is now a coordinated MSK care navigation infrastructure. From the moment you report an injury to the moment you have a clear care plan.

HURT! connects every step.

24/7 human-led musculoskeletal triage

Employer and community access pathways

Athlete Tracking Center workflows

Integration with scheduling and EMR systems

Arthritis risk engagement through Joint Score

SuperDashboard analytics and performance tracking

HURT! is no longer just an app.
It is the connective system for modern orthopedic care navigation, getting patients from pain to plan faster than any other pathway.

FOUNDERS

Founded at the Intersection of Clinical Expertise and Technology

HURT! was co-founded by an orthopedic surgeon and a technology architect who shared the same conviction: musculoskeletal access needed structure. Clinical insight shaped the vision. Engineering excellence made it scalable.

Dr. Brett Miller

Co-Founder & CEO

After more than two decades in private orthopedic practice, Dr. Miller saw how unstructured injury access created unnecessary ER visits, delayed care, and operational strain on employers and practices alike. HURT! was his answer — a structured, clinician-led pathway so that no patient has to navigate a musculoskeletal injury alone.

Cem Oztas

Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Cem translated that clinical vision into secure, scalable infrastructure. He leads platform architecture, security, integrations, and product development — ensuring HURT! performs at enterprise scale while preserving the human connection that defines it.

Built by operators who understand both sides of the problem.
